Rates & Fees

RESOLUTION

            The Madison Suburban Utility District, (District)  by and through the action of its Board of Commissioners, moved to adopt  this resolution to increase its rates for certain customers, and to increase a second category of rates, namely for fire sprinkler heads.  These rates are best described by the following graph:

Class Criteria

Residential: up to two housing units on a common water meter

Small Commercial: up to 1,600 cubic feet per month

Intermediate Commercial: 1,600-200,000 cubic feet per month

Large Commercial: over 200,000 cubic feet per month

* These are the three residential meters currently in service at MSUD.

* Minimum bills for Residential and Small Commercial 5/8?s inch meter sizes will see no increase

Proposed Fire Sprinkler Head Rate

For bills rendered after August 31, 2009

 

Monthly Minimum of $15.31 without any allowance for number of sprinkler heads plus $ .055 per sprinkler head.           

This is a MONTHLY BILLING as opposed to the current annual billing.

In-House Small Plans Review * $200.00 minimum
Includes Plat Signing and /or Letter of Availability
plus any District man-hours above 2 hours
plus any Attorney man-hours

In-House Medium Plans Review * $300.00 minimum
Includes Plat Signing and /or Letter of Availability
plus any District man-hours above 4 hours
plus any Attorney man-hours

In-House Large Plans Review * $400.00 minimum
Includes Plat Signing and /or Letter of Availability
plus any District man-hours above 6 hours
plus any Attorney man-hours


* Currently (1996), District man-hours fees are based on $50.00 per man hour. Should District man-hours fees increase, the above fees will be modified to reflect the increase accordingly, The District is not obligated at any time to perform In-house Reviews when it may be deemed appropriate by management to turn same over to the District's Engineers for review. At that time, the Developer Plans Review Fees will apply. Any System Mapping will be charged at the Standard Engineer fee rates with a minimum of $100.00 fee for same.

** Currently (1996), Engineering Fees are based on $100.00 per man-hour; Attorney Fees are based on $100.00 per man-hour; and District fees are based on $50.00 per man-hour. Should Engineering Fees, Attorney's Fees, or District man-hours costs increase, the above fees will be modified to reflect the increase accordingly. The District is not obligated to expand its efforts to review plant to reduce Engineering Fees or Attorney's Fees. As of August 16, 2001 Attorney Fees were increased to $125.00 per man-hour.

All heads above 167 heads charged at $.30 per head per year

SAME DAY/AFTER HOURS/TURN ON/ADDITIONAL FEE
In addition to the Customer Connection Fee to establish new service any customers wanting same day turn on service or after hours turn on service or if customer has to be left off in box and requires an extra-trip to turn on then a $30.00 service charge will be assessed.
